San Juan brings together a wide variety of coffee shops and serves as a departure point for operators providing transportation. For visitors without a car, that second function may matter more than geographic distance from the mountains.
The urban scene allows comparison among methods, roasts and styles without leaving the city. A guided excursion can then add origin and landscape.
Choose between driving and booking
If mountain roads are unfamiliar, compare a tour with transportation. When renting a car, avoid returning during rush hour and do not schedule too many regions in one day.
